Fun, fitness, fresh air on Move for Health Day

MFHD2010 logoExperience the outdoor fitness opportunities in the parks around the City of Cranbrook on Tuesday, May 10 to help celebrate Move for Health Day.

Everyone is invited to take part in ‘Fun, Fitness and Fresh Air’ with your entire family as a way to mark Move for Health Day, an international event developed by the World Health Organization that encourages and promotes physical activity in our lives.

You can learn how to skateboard or play pickle ball, refresh your game of tennis or basketball, learn the outdoor fitness park circuit or learn some basic dog obedience.

At the following scheduled times there will be experience volunteers on-hand as well as water, snacks and lots of great giveaways for participants:

 Viking Skate Park (pictured above) – 10 a.m.-12 p.m.

 Muriel Baxter Dog Park – 12-2 p.m.

 Outdoor Fitness Park at Western Financial Place – 2-4 p.m.

 McKinnon Park (basketball) 4-6 p.m.

 Mount Baker Courts (tennis and pickle ball) – 5-7 p.m.
