Local releases children’s album

Cranbrook musician Douglas Francis Mitchell has released a children’s album entitled ‘Let Yourself Sing,’ released earlier this month.

The album was recorded, mixed and produced by James Neve at The Neve Media Studio CD Rockhill Wycliffe.

“Local musicans Rod Wilson on percussion and Neil MacDonald on fiddle contributed their talents. Connie Therrien, a friend from Edmonton, sang harmony. The Ktunaxa youth drum group ‘Adrumnik’ added its sound on the song ‘Belly of Your Neighbour’ which is a tribute to the Ktunaxa Nation,” Mitchell said of the 14-track release.

Musicians: Douglas Francis Mitchell vocals, guitar, banjo; Connie Therrien vocals; Rod Wilson percussion; Neil MacDonald fiddle; Monica Murdoch harmony on Pura Vida; Dave Ward trumpet and flugelhorn on Pura Vida; Adrumnik Drum Group on Belly of Your Neighbour – Tyrell Gravelle, Kaiden George, Issiah George, Brandon Petrik, Jordan Scout, Andre Nicholas, Malakai Sam and Janice Alpine.

The album cover is by Krista Mitchell.

The album can be purchased at Lotus Books and at the Cranbrook Arts Council store on Baker Street, or at ‘Songs for kids of all ages.’ Send $10 plus $1 postage to: 443-15th Ave. S. Cranbrook, B.C., V1C 2Z2 or call 250-489-3623.
