Messy B&Es and a shocking end to a ski

The following is a synopsis of calls received by Cranbrook RCMP for the week (from 6 a.m.) Jan. 9. to 6 a.m., Jan. 16.
Police handled 123 calls for service throughout this week.
Among the calls police handled…
Three impaired drivers: two alcohol and marijuana.
Five collisions: three in town/ two outside of town…no major injuries. One incident resulted in an impaired driving investigation with charges pending.
Two hit and run incidents: one occurred in the city on January 8 but was reported last week and one occurred on Hwy. 3/93 near Ha Ha Creek where the victim parked his vehicle to go skiing and upon return found his front end torn off.
Five Mental Health Act calls: Three calls to assist to hospital with mental health patient – two apprehended.
Six assault complaints: three domestic in nature with an individual charged in two of these incidents; one incident unfounded; and one other incident over a business transaction.
Seven thefts reported: three shoplifting; one theft from motor vehicle that actually occurred in the middle of December; three other thefts, including the theft of two snowblowers, with both recovered and a theft of money complaint that was unfounded.
Two break and enter to residences: a suspect was arrested and charged for both break and enters. Nothing stolen; the suspect entered the residents and made a mess.
Two reports of property damage: one related to one of the domestic assaults above and the other where vehicle was vandalized.
Three drug seizures – marijuana.
16 false alarms/ false 911 complaints.
Three persons arrested for intoxication in public place.
