Personal best fest for de Pippo
Cranbrook para swimmer Jennifer de Pippo competed at the 2016 Speedo Can Am Para Swimming Championships July 15-17 in Gatineau, Quebec.
She was accompanied by her Dave Chisholm, her coach with the Cranbrook Tritons Swim Club. In five of the six events Jennifer set personal best times: 50 metre freestyle 36.56; 100 metre freestyle 1:22.33; 200 metre freestyle 3:06; 400 metre freestyle 6:25; 800 metre freestyle 12:57; and 400 metre breast 2:03.
Jennifer was able to break the 13-minute mark for the first time in the 800-metre freestyle winning Gold. While training in Cranbrook she always came in around the 13-minute mark. She has dropped one minute from February last year.
Her goal is to make the Team Canada Paralympic Swim Team in 2020 and compete for Canada at the Paralympic Games in Tokyo, Japan. She is training hard to accomplish this, swimming six days a week and working out four days a week at Fitness Inc.
Jennifer extends sincere gratitude to Frank Sandor of Sandor Rental Equipment and Jim Fiorentino of Fiorentino Brothers Contracting for their sponsorship. She would also like to thank everyone who has supported her in the past.
