Their, ther, there, they’re…

I make a ton of mistakes with grammer.

Wait.

Crap. I spelled that wrong.

I make a ton of mistakes with grammar.

I also make lots of spelling mistakes.

I don’t know when it happened. I was an early reader. As a kid I won spelling bees, essay writing contests, speech competitions and pretty much excelled at anything that was remotely connected to words.

And then all went to hell in a hand basket.

I’m not sure if it’s a use it or lose it sort of thing, but I am constantly reminded of my mistakes.

ColKylaInsetYou would think with writing a blog three times a week, that my writing would improve…?

It hasn’t.

I am getting really sick of reading something of mine that has gone ‘to print’ and says “due” instead of “do.”

I probably told you this already, but I had a “fair weather” friend actually email me that she could no longer read my blog due to the “mass of grammatical errors.”

When I first read the message it stung.

Then I realized that she was a dick.

Anywho…

There really was a point to all this blather.

I want you to know that I appreciate you. That sometimes life can get rough. And sometimes it feels like your day meant sweet bugger all to you, but you mean something to me. You mean a lot to me.

We all have terrible days. Some of us have terrible weeks or months. But, I like you just the way you are. So, let’s be nice to each other. And let’s be nice to ourselves. Because not every day we are going to remember to spell check.
