Toastmasters International is known for its educational programs that train individuals to be better communicators and better leaders.

Learn by doing at a Toastmasters meeting where you will practice impromptu speaking through Table Topics and you will practice communication skills when you present your speeches to the group. Evaluations are a useful tool in Toastmasters and help everyone including the presenter learn and grow.

When members take on meeting roles they build leadership skills. When those leadership roles are with the Area, Division or District members hone those leadership skills. Contests are another way to grow in Toastmasters where anyone has the opportunity to challenge themselves to become the World’s Best Speaker at the Toastmasters International Convention held yearly in August, in different parts of the world.

Speak your way up the rungs of the ladder through your club, Division and District at the International Speech Contest and you can challenge for the title. If you just want to be able to talk to your Parent Advisory Council with confidence then you can gain those skills in the safe learning environment of your Toastmasters meeting.

Locally, the two Toastmasters Clubs in Cranbrook have been in existence for over 30 years. If you are looking to improve your communication and leadership skills, be a guest at either club to see how a meeting works and how it may benefit you

Cranbrook Phoenix TM is now meeting on the first and third Thursdays of the month at the SunLife Office, 828 Baker Street from 12-1 p.m. The next meeting is April 7.

ToastmastersThe Cranbrook Phoenix TM meeting is a brown bag lunch meeting so bring your lunch with you.

Cranbrook First TM meets the second and fourth Thursdays of the month at the College of the Rockies, room 210 from 7:15-9:15 p.m. Next meeting April 14.

Build confidence, find your voice, be ready for that interview, create your future, join Toastmasters.
