Area C Town Hall Meetings begin this week

The Regional District of East Kootenay’s (RDEK) Area C Town Hall Meetings kick off this week.

“These meetings give us an opportunity to sit down with our constituents and update them on some of the projects currently going on in their area,” says Electoral Area C Director Rob Gay. “It’s also an excellent opportunity to receive feedback and I look forward to a strong turnout this year.”

While each meeting will be somewhat different, the Area C meetings will feature presentations on the RDEK’s new Agricultural Plan, recycling and the RDEK’s Five-Year Financial Plan.

The Area C meetings will get underway this Thursday, January 19 at 7 p.m. in the Cranbrook Public Library Manual Training Room. There will also be meetings at the Moyie Community Hall at 7 p.m. on January 23 and at the Steeplesview Recreation Centre in Wardner on January 26.

The Area B Town Hall Meeting will be held January 30th at the Elko Community Hall. Presentations in Area B will focus on the Lake Koocanusa Official Community Plan, Agricultural Plan, Elko Fire Update, Five-Year Financial Plan and Jaffray/Baynes Lake Fire Update.

In Electoral Area E, the Town Hall Meeting will be held on February 6 in Wasa and will feature presentations on the Agricultural Plan, Mosquito Program, zoning and placement of RVs and Five-Year Financial Plan.

The Town Hall Meetings begin at 7 p.m. and are being held in all six Electoral Areas. For a complete list of meeting dates and agenda items, visit www.rdek.bc.ca or contact the RDEK.
