College campuses closed February 10
Due to the ongoing weather situation in the region,College of the Rockies campuses in Cranbrook, Creston, Invermere and Kimberley will be closed on Friday, February 10.
“In the interest of safety for our staff and students, we have decided to close most of our campuses,” said College President and CEO, David Walls. “The Golden and Fernie campuses currently plan to remain open, however, we are monitoring the weather situation and that may change by morning.”
This follows earlier closures of some of the college’s campuses on Monday, February 6 and the cancellation of evening classes on Thursday, February 9.
“Although the snow is expected to taper off over this evening, changing weather and road conditions in our region will continue to make travel challenging. We encourage all students and staff to stay home and to exercise extreme caution if travel is necessary,” Walls added.
Services at the Golden and Fernie campuses may be reduced on Friday. Please contact those campuses directly for more information.
Updates as to the status of all campuses will be posted on the college’s Facebook page and Twitter feed (@COTRsocial) as they become available.
Students and staff can also find updates on the college’s portal.
