Local girls need vote support in Cheer Contest

East Kootenay Knights look to defeat Canada in Hometown Hockey Cheer Contest

The East Kootenay Knights Female Peewee Hockey Team needs your help to represent the East Kootenay at the national Hometown Hockey Cheering Contest.

In February, three local teams went head to head at the Rogers Hometown Hockey Event in Cranbrook. All three teams took centre stage to become the Cranbrook contingent of the National cheering contest. Although the competition was close, the East Kootenay Knights came out on top. Winning Cranbrook allowed them to take on Canada!

The team is made up of girls from Cranbrook, Kimberley, Creston, Jaffray and Fernie. We are looking to those communities and beyond to vote for the team to win the grand prize.

The video is available on the Hometown Hockey Website and voting takes place between April 2 at 7:30 p.m. Eastern until 11:59 p.m. on April 7, when the winning team will be announced.

The winning team will receive an NHL Viewing party hosted by a National Hockey League star.

Please help these girls win the opportunity of a lifetime! Vote once; vote often!
