Winter in the East Kootenay

So how was your winter?

We hope you’re not still dealing with it. Chances are folks in the East Kootenay will be dealing with winter’s melt in a variety of ways. Here’s hoping we escape flooding.

It’s safe to say the winter of 2016/17 was the ‘winteriest’ since 1996 and one of the lengthier in decades. It was the best of times; it was also really long and annoying, too, at times, especially for those driving.

The following photo collection is from our travels into the East Kootenay during the winter season, ending March 20.

The gist of our now quarterly/seasonal feature is to show life’s passage in the East Kootenay.

Images in this collection were taken in: Cranbrook and area (including Key City Theatre); Invermere and area; Elkford; Kimberley; Wardner; Fernie; Sparwood; and Windermere.
