Stories, singing and activities for preschoolers and their caregivers.

Toddlertime (Ages 0-2 years) Wednesdays and Fridays at 11:15 a.m. Singing, simple stories and fingerplays for babies and their caregivers.

Tuesday, Feb 14 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. ‘I Got You Babe’ Storytime and Sweets Potluck Party. We provide the stories, songs and soup. You bring the cute babies, toddlers, and family, with a sweet treat to share.

Children’s Activities for School-aged children

Tuesdays 3:30 -4:45 p.m. Knits, Knots & Yarns Drop-in crafting for ages 8+. Learn the art of knitting while listening to the pioneer stories of Little House on the Prairie.

Wednesdays 3:45-4:45 p.m. Kids Coding Club Registration REQUIRED This program is in partnership with CBAL and is for kids 8+ years old interested in a fun way of understanding basic coding skills. Max 6 children per session. Register for February or March by emailing [email protected]

Wednesdays 3:45-4:45 p.m. Kids Read it First Book / Movie Club

For ages 9+ A book club with a movie ending. Drop-in. Books available at the library in the first week of February. This month’s book: How to Train Your Dragon by Cressida Cowell Movie screening with popcorn on Wednesday February 22, 3:30-5 p.m.

Thursdays 3:30-4:45 p.m. LEGO Builders Club Registration REQUIRED. New challenge every week, for ages seven and up. Register for mid-February session by emailing [email protected]

FUN FRIDAY: February 24 1-2:30 p.m. Diary of a Wimpy Kid Day

Drop-in for ages 7+. All children require a valid library card and waiver to attend. See staff at circulation desk for details.

Teens

Thursday, February 16, 6 -7 p.m. Pizza League for ages 13+ Drop in for pizza and discussion.

Adult Programming

Stitch and Bitch Wednesday, February 1 – Drop-In knitting, crocheting, and any other yarny endeavour, on the first Wednesday of each month at 10 a.m. Please enter using the back door.

Family Programming

Storytime (Ages 3-5 years) Tuesdays 11:15 a.m.-noon

Tea and Talk Book Club: Friday, February 24 at 1:30 p.m. Daredevils by Shawn Vestal All are welcome. Copies of the book are available from the library.

Walkie Talkie: Wednesday, February 22 at 10 a.m. Wild by Cheryl Strayed. We will meet at the library front steps and walk along along the river path and chat as we go. Copies of the book are available from the library in early February.

Thursday Evening Social: Beyond Monopoly February 2, 6:30 -7:30 p.m.  Once a month time for adults to enjoy a friendly gathering and possibly a lively discussion on monthly themes. Join us for a discussion on money…and maybe even a game of Monopoly!

Seniors

Tom Uphill Manor: Wednesday, Feb 1 at 1:30 p.m. with IDES Kindergarten Class.

Rocky Mountain Village Serenity Room: Wednesday, Feb 8 at 1:15 p.m. with Creative Minds Preschool.

Rocky Mountain Village Upstairs Lounge: Thursdays at 11 a.m.: Library Club: Drop in.

All-Ages Programming

Saturday, February 4: Ukulele 101: Register for one of these free beginner workshops and borrow a ukulele from the library to practice your new skills. Kids workshop 1:30 p.m., Adult workshop 2:15 p.m.

Saturday February 4: All Around Colouring: all ages BYO coloring book or use one of ours, pencil crayons provided. 3:30-4:30 p.m.

Monday, February 6: SCREENAGERS: The Movie at the Fernie Vogue Theatre (321-2 Ave). Doors open at 4:30 p.m., movie starts at 5 p.m. sharp. Free Admission, concession available at theatre. Suitable for ages 10+. No reserved seating.

Saturday February 18: All Around Colouring: all ages BYO coloring book or use one of ours, pencil crayons provided. 3:30-4:30 p.m.
