Elementary school children always enjoy the City of Fernie’s Fire Chief for the Day program!

This is an educational program that teaches young children how to respond in an emergency. The children tour the fire hall and have a chance to climb aboard the Fire Truck with one lucky child playing the part of Fire Chief for the day.

Children get to meet with Mayor Mary Giuliano and tour City Hall and council chambers. This program teaches fire safety in a fun and entertaining way. We had this group visit us last week.
