March at the Fernie Heritage Library

The following is a rundown on what is taking place at Fernie Heritage Library in March.

Storytime (Ages 3-5 years) – Tuesdays 11:15 a.m.-noon; Stories, singing and activities for preschoolers and their caregivers.

Toddlertime (Ages 0-2 years) – Wednesday 11:15 a.m. and Fridays: 11:15 a.m.; Singing, simple stories and fingerplays for babies and their caregivers.

Children’s Activities for Grades 1-6 from March 3-13

Tuesday 3:30-4:45 p.m.: Knits and Knots, Age 8+, Drop In;

Wednesday 3:30-4:45 p.m.: Paper, Rock ,Scissors, Age 9 +, Drop In;

Thursdays 3:30-4:45 p.m.:  Lego Club (age 7+)  Registration required;

Fridays 12:15-1:30 p.m. Lunch Bag Club (Age 7+)  A potluck of fun activities! Drop-In.

SPRING BREAK ACTIVITIES at the Library

March 17-20

Keys to Adventure -Travel and explore four countries on the Library cruise ship. Cruise Director Anie will introduce you to some fun, around-the-globe activities while you sample new foods, and practice a few phrases in four languages! Maps, keys, prizes, crafts, small snacks, stories and more!

Spring Break Camp is free, drop in and will run on four afternoons, March 17-20, from 1-3 p.m. for ages 7-12. Limited spaces available. Waiver forms to be filled out by parent or caregiver on the first day child attends camp.

Kindergarten Fun for ages 5 and 6 (Parents or caregivers to attend); Wednesday March 18 4-5 p.m., St Paddy’s Day Fun Drop-In

Thursday March 19 from 11 a.m.-noon. Lego Challenge Drop-in.

Red Cedar Book Club (Grades 4-6); March 26, 6:30-7:30 p.m. Book Mash Up

Let’s put together two or three books and see if we can have all the characters meet and star in a comic strip of your creation. New members always welcome. This Book Club is for children in grades 4-6.

SKIP (Seniors and Kids Intergenerational Programs)

March 11, 1-1:45 p.m. Senior Story time at Rocky Mountain Village. Songs and stories for old and young. All are welcome.

March 11 & 25: 12:15-12:45 p.m.: Book Display at The Senior’s Centre. Come browse some new books to sign out while you are having lunch at the Seniors’ Center. New selection each week.

Daytime Adult Programming

Crafterspace: 1-3 p.m. March 4 and 18

Come bring your craft to work on in the boardroom. Tea will be on!

Tea and Talk Book Club: March 27, 1:30 p.m.

Booked! Fernie Writers’ Series

March 27: John Vaillant: Jaguar’s Children.

Author reading, live music by “Joshua’s Burning”, cash bar. Doors open at 7 p.m. Reading at 8 p.m.
