Family Programming  

Storytime (Ages 3-5 years) – Tuesdays 11:15 a.m.-noon

Stories, singing and activities for preschoolers and their caregivers.

Toddlertime (Ages 0-2 years) – Wednesdays and Fridays at 11:15 a.m.

Singing, simple stories and fingerplays for babies and their caregivers.

Children’s Activities for Grades 1-6

Drop-in fun for tweens grades 5-7. This month’s theme: GAME CREATORS, making and playing your own.

Wednesdays 3:30-4:45 p.m. Unplugged

This month it’s all about letter games ages 8+, Drop In.

Thursdays 3:30-4:45 p.m. Lego Club

New challenge every week, for ages 7+ MUST REGISTER to attend.

FUN FRIDAY Rootbeerfest- Friday October 21, 1-2:30 p.m. for ages 7+. Drop In.

Teens

October 20, 6-7:30 p.m.

Pizza League for ages 13+

Drop in for pizza and fun.

Adult Programming

Tea and Talk Book Club: Come Along with Me by Karma Brown.

All are welcome. Copies of the book are available from the library. Friday, October 28 at 1:30 p.m.

Walkie Talkie: October 26 – Cadillac Cathedral by Jack Hodgins

A new drop-in outdoor book club on the last Wednesday morning of each month from 10-11 a.m. We will meet at the library front steps and walk along along the river path and chat as we go. Sign up for your copy of the book from the library.

Stitch and Bitch October 5

Drop-In Knitting crocheting and any other yarny endeavour on the first Wednesday of each month at 10 a.m. in the beautiful view of the reference floor at the library.

First Thursday Social – October 6, 7 p.m.

Once a month time for adults to enjoy a friendly gathering and possibly a lively discussion on a monthly themes. October is Cellar Night: Craft beer tasting. BYO One bottle of your favourite craft beer to share, and something to pair it with. Pretzels provided for all.

Senior Storytime for all ages with Ms. Anie (drop in)

Rocky Mountain Village Serenity Room: Wed, October 12 at 1:15 p.m. with Creative Minds Preschool.

Author Reading: Donna Macdonald – Wednesday Oct 26 at 7 p.m.

Join Author Donna MacDonald as she reads from her book Surviving City Hall.

Booked! Fernie Writers’ Series presents: Alix Hawley author of ‘All True not a Lie in It.’ Friday, October 14, 7 p.m. A wonderful evening of food, refreshments, great conversation. Live music provided by Clay Parsons and Joelle Winkel of The Good Ol Goats.

All-Ages Programming

Saturday, October 1 at 1:30 p.m.: Fishing Stories and Songs (as a part of GillBilly 2016) Bluegrass jam and fish tales. BYI and BYS (Bring Your Instrument and Bring Your Story) All are welcome.

Saturday, October 15: Ukulele 101: Register for one of these free beginner workshops and borrow a ukulele from the library to practice your new skills. Kids workshop 1:30 p.m., Adult workshop 2:15 p.m.

Saturday, October 15: All Around Colouring: all ages BYO coloring Book or use one of ours, pencil crayons provided. 3:30-4:30 p.m.
