PhD student seeks information

Letter to the Editor

Do you remember the ‘Kimberley Climate Adaptation Project’ workshops held in 2008-2009?

My name is Dana Reiter and I am a Canadian PhD student from the North Okanagan region of B.C. doing a PhD in Australia.

I am looking for people who took part in one or more of the workshops affiliated with this project. I can send you a two-page outline of the project to jog your memory. The project was run through a Columbia Basin Trust community climate change program.

If you attended any of the workshops I would like to conduct a 30-minute in-person interview with you about the project for my PhD research (contact info below).

I do not expect people to have excellent recall of the project, but it will be very insightful to gain an understanding of whatever recall you do have.

My PhD research is to ask participants of the project about their experience with the project and workshops so that I can use that information to improve the process—through insight provided by people who took part in the process—instead of only relying only on the views of those who developed the project.

I have recently completed the same interviews with people who took part in a very similar project in Australia.

Please let me know if you would like to schedule an interview time.

Also, please feel free to forward this invitation on to any friends or colleagues of yours who you think may have also participated in any of the workshops in 2008-2009. Thank you!

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Dana Reiter,
