12th annual Snow Golf hits Lake Windermere Feb. 2

“Fore” will be echoing across Taynton Bay and around Kinsmen Beach in Invermere Feb. 2 when the 12th annual Snow Golf Tournament takes to the ice of Lake Windermere.

The annual 18-hole golf tournament played on the snow and ice of the lake, is always a colourful and enjoyable game of “whack – you know what” and the best part of it is – your $35 entry fee goes to the Kinsmen Club of Windermere Valley and back into the community in the form of donations and help.

Each year Kinsmen Club members carve out a unique track on the lake on Taynton Bay and dozens of foursomes venture out into the always-different conditions, closing the day down at The Station Neighbourhood Pub for prizes and awards.

Registration begins at 11 a.m. at The Station and a shotgun start at noon signals the tourney start.

Remember to dress accordingly. In recent years, foursomes have been becoming more daring in terms of costumes and creative when it comes to ‘golf carts.’

Entrants must be 19 or older. Call 250-342-5557 for more info.
