Dueck adds gold to Sochi Games haul
Kimberley’s Josh Dueck tore apart the men’s super combined course (slalom and super-G) at the Sochi Paralympics March 14 and snagged a gold medal for Team Canada.
Some racers used caution on the mountain due to less-than-normal conditions but Dueck put the pedal down, finishing in two minutes 18.2 seconds, almost a second ahead of second place American Heath Calhoun and two seconds ahead of bronze medalist Roman Rubl of Austria.
The medal is Canada’s third gold at the games and Dueck’s second. He captured silver in the sit-ski downhill on March 8.
