Rodeo action and a trip to Disneyland

Rodeo fans were once again treated to a big show August 15-17 at the Wycliffe Rodeo Grounds during the 28th annual Cranbrook Pro Rodeo.

Two evening sessions and a Sunday finale, which was also Kids’ Day, allowed for all to have a chance to take in the action.

The dusty-tongued and captivating Wes Cummings was once again announcer for the Cranbrook Rodeo and trick rider Shelby Cummings and Liberty Horse Trainer Niki Flundra were on hand to amaze during the breaks.

On Sunday, there wasn’t likely a dry eye in the stands or in the cowboy’s waiting area when Cummings, a strong supporter of the Make A Wish Foundation, rode around the arena with Brooke Willison, a young Cranbrook girl with the extremely rare Crommelin Syndrome.

During the ride, Cummings shared a story about how Brooke and her family were going to take a trip to Disneyland, a great wish of Brooke’s.

The evening before at the rodeo, Dean and Tina Uphill from Dacota Freight Services learned of Brooke’s wish and they decided to make it come true for the inspiring “spitfire” of a girl, as Cummings observed.

Unofficial results for the rodeo.
