The East Kootenay’s three major ski resorts are busy preparing for the upcoming ski season.

Opening first this year is Fernie Alpine Resort (pictured above), with a planned opening for Dec. 4.

Next up is Panorama Mountain Resort on Dec. 11 and Kimberley Alpine Resort opens Dec. 12.

Fairmont Hot Springs Ski Hill opens in December but no firm date has been made available yet. And no opening date is yet available for Elkford’s Wapiti Ski Hill. Mid December is likely for both hills.

Golden’s Kicking Horse Resort also opens Dec. 12, as does Rossland’s Red Mountain.

Whistler-Blackcomb opens tomorrow, Nov. 5.

Lake Louise Ski Resort opens on Friday, Nov. 6.
