2013 in the East Kootenay

When it comes time to sort through the previous year’s work to compile ‘year in review’ specials, it always amazes me how much natural beauty we have to sift through.

The purpose behind doing the monthly photography features is to showcase life as it is happening in our mountain paradise.

While we deal with inclement weather and lost light as we tour around the region in the due course of doing business in the East Kootenay, we are still blessed with dozens of delightful days where our sole purpose is to capture our region’s beauty.

We hope this collection – covering about one-sixth of all the images we published in our monthly features – offers a glimpse of what it is like to be so lucky as to live in the East Kootenay.

Lead image: My favourite of the year – a chance encounter with a momma badger and two youngsters, including one that gave me a piece of its mind – east of Cranbrook.
