The Columbia Valley Tourism Marketing Committee and a host of valley tourism industry businesses combined to create a wealth of ongoing media exposure last weekend (Feb. 7-9).

The gamut of Columbia Valley tourism amenities were on display in full panoramic colour as sharp blue skies and picture perfect winter weather blessed the weekend.

Media from around Alberta and B.C. availed themselves to skiing, hot springs, Lake Windermere’s White Way, snowmobiling, snow golf, ice fishing, sightseeing, wildlife watching and much more during the weekend.

A generous reception was held Saturday, Feb. 1 at Pynelogs Cultural Centre by CV Tourism and Tourism Radium, where media members chatted and learned more about what the valley has to offer.

High among the comments of praise for the weekend were kudos to the companies that provided accommodation for the media – free of charge.

Bighorn Meadows Resort, Copper Point Resort, Fairmont Creek Property Rentals and High Country Properties Vacation Rentals provided accommodations.

The Media Weekend is the second time in the past nine months that CV Tourism has organized a gathering of journalists from afar (and not so far) in an effort to expose the valley’s tourism opportunities.

Thus far, a variety of pieces have already been published and there will be more to come.
