January in the East Kootenay

January happened, right? We didn’t leap from Christmas to February via some winter dodging miracle?

It seems so long ago now that we’ve had a warmer than normal February (so far), when we were keeping warm by a roaring fire, tobogganing and dodging stampeding elk (in Gold Creek).

We didn’t get out too much, in the larger geographical sense, aside from a few brief jaunts out-of-region, so this month’s collection of images depicting life as it happens in the East Kootenay is a bit thin.

Images include the following areas: Cranbrook and area; Invermere; Radium Hot Springs and Kootenay National Park.
