Alice Grace TEGART

JANUARY 24, 1921 ~ MAY 14, 2019 (AGE 98)

Alice Grace Tegart, the last remaining child of the Tegart family Columbia Valley Pioneers, passed away on Tuesday, May 14th at the age of 98.

Alice is survived by her daughter Brenda Erickson; 2 grandsons: David Bradley Semeniuk and Denver Dennis Gram with his wife Marjolaine Brousseau Paquet and great grandchildren Trinity Semeniuk and Jaxon Gram as well as nieces, nephews and close friends. She was predeceased by her parents Arthur and Mary Tegart and 11 siblings: Lloyd Tegart, Bob Tegart, Hazel Kohorst, George Tegart, Emily Westwood, Buster Tegart, Ivy Palmer, Marjorie Negley, Jim Tegart, Albert Tegart, and Monty Tegart.

Alice was born in Invermere on January 24, 1921. She attended elementary school in Brisco and high school in Lillooet and proceeded to further her education at the Vancouver Business College.

In High River, AB Alice was a civilian uniformed member of the RCAF, working as an Office Administrator and Parachute Quality Control Officer for the Military Service Number 5 EFTS (Elementary Flight Training School).

Her accounting career also led to jobs with Cominco Calgary, the Canadian Income Tax Department, and as Zellar’s Credit Manager for 24 years.

Alice lived in Brisco, Lillooet, High River, Calgary and Nanton before returning to her birthplace of Invermere where she enjoyed gardening, sewing, and spending time with family and friends.

Memorial donations may be made in Alice’s memory to the Arthritis Foundation or to the Alzheimer’s Society.
