Charlotte Susan Hildebrand

May 30, 1923 ~ July 15, 2019
Charlotte (Lottie) passed away at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital on July 15,2019.
Born in Leopoldshain, Germany on May 30, 1923 to Richard and Marie (Muchock) Baumgart, the family immigrated to Canada in August, 1927 settling in Manitoba. Charlotte married Sam Hildebrand on March 31, 1945 and together they operated a trucking business in Morden, Manitoba; a motel in Kimberley, BC; a ranch near Wardner, BC and an orchard in Creston, BC. Charlotte also was employed as a chauffeur in Manitoba, a cook in Jaffray and a camp cook for a guiding outfit up the Bull River valley. Along the way, Charlotte raised 4 boys, enjoyed curling, playing cribbage, socializing with friends, camping and travelling from Germany to Hawaii and the Northwest Territories to Mexico.
Charlotte is survived by her sons Barton, Glenn and Kelvin; grandchildren Elaine, Debra, Lisa, Jessica, Mallory and Clayton; great-grandchildren
Breanna and Daryl and numerous nieces and nephews. Charlotte will be missed by her family and the many friends she made during her life’s
journey.
She was predeceased by her parents, her brothers Eric and Bill, her sister Elizabeth, her husband Sam in 2007 and her son Douglas in 1974.

Memorial service to be held at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Cranbrook, British Columbia on Saturday, July 20th at 10:00 am.
