During World War 2 Irene was a “Farm Girl”, she met and married Bert Laine in Whitewood, SK in 1941. They had two children, Beverly and Dennis.

Irene and Bert moved to Cranbrook in 1965. Irene worked at Overwaitea on Baker Street. In 1968 she started to work for Canada Post until her retirement in 1983.

Irene and Bert enjoyed many sports including, golfing, curling, camping and fishing. She was Worthy Grand Matron of the Eastern Star and spent many hours donating time to the Local Shrine Club.
Irene is survived by her Daughter Beverly Watson (Jim) 6 Grandchildren, 8 Great grandchildren, 3 Great Great grandchildren.

Irene was predeceased by her Husband: Bert Laine, Son: Dennis, Daughter in Law: Adriana.
The Family wishes to thank: Dr. Davis, The Staff at Joseph’s Creek, The Staff on 3rd Floor at Kootenay Regional Hospital and many other who showed her great kindness.

A Funeral Service will be held in Cranbrook, April 23 @ 11:00 am at Knox Presbyterian Church. Internment in Westlawn Cemetery.
