Obituary for Nancy Lyne PROWSE

Nancy Lyne PROWSE

August 9, 1959 ~ April 18, 2020 (age 60)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nancy Lynn Prowse on Saturday April 18, 2020 at the age of 60. Taken far too soon, she fought a sudden diagnosis with grace and dignity, passing away peacefully at home with her loving family by her side.

Nancy was born August 9, 1959 in Calgary, Alberta. She is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Bob; her son Benjamin and daughters Lindsey (Neil) and Emily (Brennan); her grandchildren: Cole, Emmet, Taylor, Riley, Michael, Alexander, Addison and Presley, and her sisters Wendy, Sandra, Cheryl, Judy, Bobbi Jo and their families, as well as numerous family and friends.

A glorious smile and an infectious laugh, Nancy will be fondly remembered for her zest for life, a friend to all, a shoulder to lean on and the warmest of hugs and unmatched capacity to love.

Family was the most important aspect of Nancy’s life. She treasured being a mother and a grandma. To sing songs and tell jokes. She was a keeper of memories and delighted in sharing stories. Her door was always open. Whether you were over for a haircut, a coffee, a beer or a heart to heart. Never one to miss a beat, acknowledging birthdays with a full version of the Happy Birthday song for all her loved ones.

Nancy took great pride in her work with cosmetics and fragrance. She loved the comradery and banter with her coworkers and had wonderful customers. At work, she knew everyone by name and if you were special, by the nickname she would give. She would say “If I didn’t tease you, I wouldn’t like you!” She would walk through the mall and know a little something about each and every one.

Nancy, Bob and their kids and grandbabies made many wonderful memories on their weekend trips to Tie Lake. So much so, that Nancy and Bob chose to retire to Jaffray, B.C. in 2008.

Having her grandkids for a visit, relaxing on the lake, playing her online games or sitting on her deck with her fur baby Murphy and enjoying a nice cold beer after tending her garden made the perfect days for her.

Nancy is predeceased by her parents; Tom and Gwen Cook and her in-laws; Herbert and Audrey Prowse.

Due to these unprecedented times, a Celebration of Life will take place later in 2020.

In the interim, loved ones are encouraged to remember Nancy by cranking up the tunes, raising a glass and sending her a heartfelt toast.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to AARCS.
