Obituary for Robert “Bob” Alexander Lamond

Robert “Bob” Alexander Lamond

April 15th 1947 – March 20th 2019

It’s with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bob. After a year long battle that presented great hurdles, he continuously fought the uphill battle the entire time. He beat cancer with great pride, even with other complications thrown at him, he fought right to the end.Bob was the eldest of four children to Robert and Doreen Lamond. He was born in Grand Forks BC and left at the young age of sixteen. The younger Bob then joined the Airforce as a fireman, and ended up working as a fireman in Winnipeg then Regina following. It was in the Air Force he met his first wife Corrine. Shortly after they moved to Canal Flats, where they had their two children and Bob started his long standing career of 38+ years with CFI/Tembec. He worked within the sawmill, pulp mill and in the bush as the safety and first aid coordinator. He took pride and loved his work. After his retirement from Tembec he wasn’t done and started his own safety consulting company which allowed him to travel around to different worksites. Eventually in 2015 he decided to hang up the safety vest for good, but he was always willing to give his opinion. In 1999 Bob lost Corrine to a short battle with cancer. A short time after that he met Donna and new adventures arose. They enjoyed spending most of their winters down south, meeting new friends and racking up endless mileage on his beloved Harley. We have great hopes that Bob is spending his time riding his Harley with the wind through his hair.

Bob was predeceased by his parents Robert and Doreen Lamond, his first wife Corrine (Lowe) Lamond, sister Jeannie Lamond, nephew Wayne Philpot and granddaughter Taylor Janni. Bob is survived by his wife Donna, brothers Tom (Terry), Brian (Liz), daughter Trinda (Ron), son Wade (Celina) and Jennifer and grandchildren Mason (Jess), Reece, Nolan, Jake, Fletcher, Anna, Atlin and Sam. He also leaves behind MANY nieces and nephews along with great friends.

A Memorial Service in honour of Bob will be held on Saturday April 6, 2019 at McPherson Funeral Service in Cranbrook, BC at 2:00 pm.

Due to Bob’s endless dedication to first aid and safety we request that in lieu of flowers please make a donation to St. John’s Ambulance Community Services at sja.ca.
