Shirley Nancy Richmond
On the wings of a special angel, Shirley left us on August 20, 2019. With her loving family at her side.
Her love for making gifts with her hands, will be cherished by everyone who received them. If you didn’t find her in the kitchen making her highly sought after perogies or cabbage rolls, she would be hands deep in canning or baking. She loved to sew, and crochet, and her talent showed with the beautiful blankets and other items she made.
Shirley was an avid fan of the Cranbrook Royals and a seasons ticket holder of the Kootenay Ice. She always looked forward to the games, (secretly it was more who would be watching and cheering in the other seat with her.)
Shirley had a true love for her family and friends, her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, along with her many nieces and nephews and their families. She touched many hearts along her life’s journey and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her sons Kevin (Tammy) and Doug, grandchildren Kristina, Colin, Rachel, step-grandchildren Kalista and Sieanna, brothers Gordon, Jerry, Don (Doretta) Halyk, sister Mavis (Dale) Gustafson, brothers-in-law Wilfred (Doris) Richmond, Lloyd (Carol) Reid as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents Steve and Nellie Halyk, husband Richie Richmond, sister Vangie Turton, parents-in-law Lawrence and May Richmond, sisters-in-law Sandra Halyk, Shirley Halyk, Lorraine Reid, brother-in-law Cliff and his wife Cecile Richmond.
At Shirley’s request there will be no services.
