Obituary of Christopher Warrington Agnew

Christopher Warrington Agnew

1973 – 2021

Chris passed away suddenly on March 16, 2021, the day following his 48th birthday and will now be joining his father Gregory John Agnew on his new journey from above.

Chris, like his father, was a kind and loving man, and adored his family. Chris made his living as a Red Seal Chef and had a passion for creating unique and delectable meals, and he will be remembered for his artistry with food. His passion for cooking extended to a passion for teaching; encouraging emerging chefs to pursue their art through obtaining their red seal designation. He was a beloved employee of The Hideout since 2013, which he viewed as an extension of his family. Chris loved the collaborative nature of the kitchen and sharing his craft with other skilled and passionate people. He took great joy in his work and the accolades he received from his work family and their customers.

He is survived by his mother, Lynne Warrington, his three children, Breanne (Jim) Dodge, Aubrey Agnew, and McKenzie Agnew, his first grandchild Cecilia Dodge, his seven siblings, James, Amanda, Samantha, Melissa, Sarah-May, Emma, and Alex, and many nieces and nephews.

“Life is very short, and there’s no time for fussing or fighting, my friends.” (John Lennon)

In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family asks that donations be made in Chris’ name to the East Kootenay Addiction Services Society.
