Obituary of Daniel Maurice Pighin

Daniel Maurice Pighin

September 7, 1946 – July 3, 2021

It is with deep sadness the family of Daniel Pighin announces his sudden passing on July 3, 2021.

Daniel was born on JD Ranch in Fort Steele, B.C. to Victor and Laura Pighin. He was the fifth of the ten children that would make the large but loving family. Daniel loved growing up on the ranch, always helping and learning, gaining the knowledge that eventually helped him to take over the reins when his father retired. He went on to raise his own family here and was fortunate to be able to show his children and grandchildren the ranch life. He was proud to see the future of the ranch continuing in front of him while working alongside his family. Daniel had that ranch in his hard-working hands, heart, and soul, it was heartwarming that during one of these workdays on the ranch he passed away doing what he loved. The memories, life lessons, teachings and love he instilled in his children and grandchildren will be passed along for generations to come, we will miss you, and never forget.

Daniel is survived by his wife Vivienne, son Jake (Kendra), daughter Jolene (Calem), grandchildren Matana, Jaxon and Garrett, his siblings Elliott (Phyllis), Ernie (Toni), Sharon (Bill), Barbara (Louis), Bernice (Mike), Terry (Icille), John (Janie) and 23 nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sisters Jeannette and Marcia.

There will be a Funeral Service for Daniel, Saturday, July 24, 2021, at the Alliance Church in Cranbrook, B.C. at 1:00 pm. All are welcome to attend, services will comply with all Covid restrictions.
