Felicia Phyllis Rapisarda

It is with heavy hearts that we had to say goodbye to a kind, gentle soul, Felicia “Phyllis” Rapisarda at the age of 77, who passed away peacefully at the Chinook Hospice Care Centre in Calgary, Alberta on August 9, 2021.

Felicia was the daughter of the late Francesco and Francesca Rapisarda. She was born in Fiumefreddo, Sicily on January 2, 1944, and immigrated to Canada at the age of 6.   Felicia spent most of her life in Nelson, British Columbia with her family.  Felicia was brought up in a loving tight-knit family that did all things together.  In 1989 she moved with her parents to Cranbrook, B.C., and spent most of her days gardening, taking care of her parents and watching classic movies, which she loved. Felicia always looked forward to travelling to Florida and to Sicily to visit her family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with her nephew and nieces and their children.  Felicia always enjoyed big family dinners, Christmas, and Easter when everyone was together. She was always willing to lend a hand and offer help. She loved going on nature walks and being outside, colouring, search word puzzles and her many cats from over the years.

Felicia is lovingly remembered and survived by her sister-in-law Carmela, her nephew Frank (Andrea) and nieces Mary (Marc) and Elisa (Glen) and her great nephews and nieces Giovanni, Guiliano, Evangeline and Elliana, many other cousins in the United States, Australia, and Sicily.

She was predeceased by her parents Francesco Rapisarda & Francesca Rapisarda and her brother John Rapisarda.

The family would like to express their sincerest thanks to Dr. A. Ingram and all the staff at the Chinook Hospice Care Centre in Calgary, for their compassion and care in Felicia’s final days.

There will be a Graveside Service on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 11:00am, at the Westlawn Mausoleum, Cranbrook, B.C.
