Obituary of Glenn Keith Forrester

Glenn Keith FORRESTER

December 2, 1954 ~ June 30, 2021 (age 66)

It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow we announce the passing of Glenn Keith Forrester on June 30th,2021 at the Elk Valley Hospital surrounded by his loving family.  A beloved son, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, he will be sadly missed by many.

Glenn was born in Kelvington, SK on Dec 2nd 1954, the 7th of 9 children and youngest son born to Esther and Frank Forrester. He lived in Rose Valley, SK until 1960 when at 6 years old, the family moved to a dairy farm between Salmo and Ymir, BC.

Glenn helped on the family farm where he loved working with all the animals except for the sheep. Many of his nieces and nephews experienced this love when he would take them for horseback rides around the farm. He worked hard at many jobs over his lifetime – mechanic at the family garage, sawmills, logging, equipment operator as well as equipment trainer at Green Hills and finally at CNRL.

This gentle, loving, caring and wonderful man has left a permanent mark etched on our hearts and will be greatly missed by his former spouse Cathy and their children Becky (Scott) and Corey (CJ); former spouse Linda and their children Cody (Sam) and Garrett (Jessica), and former spouse Jennifer.

He was a proud grandfather to Courtney (Wyatt), Jeffrey (Sarah), Darion, Colten, Taytum, Aubrey and Scarlett, and to his great-granddaughter Emersyn.

Glenn also leaves to cherish his memory his siblings: Donna, Dennis (Christine), Les (Deb), Brenda (Chris) and brother-in-law Ted as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Glenn was predeceased by his parents Frank and Esther, sisters Caroline, Sandy, and Janice as well as brothers-in-law Arnold and Ken.

While Glenn was known as a quiet man by most, he seized life with joy, gave to life generously and leaves a legacy of love and laughter.

A celebration of Glenn’s life with take place on July 31st, 2021, at Elk Valley Regional Park. For more information, please see Glenn’s Visitation page on Facebook.

We are very appreciative and thankful for the care Glenn received by the “angels” at the Elk Valley Hospital, Homecare nurses and the BC Ambulance Service members.

In lieu of flowers a memorial donation may be made in Glenn’s name to the Red Cross, Stars Air Ambulance or the Heart and Stroke Foundation
