Obituary of Josef Gex-Collet

Josef Gex-Collet

May 25, 1955 – May 6, 2021

Josef was born in Switzerland, May 25, 1955, one of 10 children in their large family. Joe came to Canada 43 years ago where he met the love of his life, and later raised their 4 children together. Originally his love of the wilderness drew Joe to the East Kootenays, then his passion for wood, combined with his brilliant mind in solving problems lead to his construction career.

Joe has many master pieces of his talent left behind. His legacy was passing on his knowledge to his children, students, employees, and apprentices, that came from all 4 corners of the globe.

Joe will be greatly missed by all who knew him, enjoyed his many stories, jokes, and inappropriate comments! His sense of humour was unmatched, and his candid wittiness will be forever missed!

He is survived by his wife, children, grandson, 8 remaining siblings and many nieces and nephews.

Joe was predeceased by his parents and one brother.

There will be A Celebration of Life after Covid restrictions have lifted.
