Kitty Winifred Bengtson

April 17, 1925 ~ October 8, 2019

Kitty was born in Keremeos and spent her early years there. After the war she married Vern and moved to Kimberley, B.C. and got a job with the “Bay”. After retirement she became a marriage commissioner. Kitty was very active in her Community. She became a board member of the Kimberley Special Care home “The Pines”. She loved to garden, play golf, fishing and winning at cards!  Kitty was a loving and very caring person, she believed Kimberley, B.C was the best place on earth and felt blessed to live there. Kitty was well known in the area and will be missed.

Kitty is survived by her sister-in-law Doreen Smith of Keremeos, B.C. nieces Diane Clayton of Poulsbo, Washington, Adell Morris of Webster City Iowa, Brenda Walters of Keremeos, B.C., Shelly Smith of Cawston, B.C., Barbara Kita of Georgetown, Ont, Patty Woodward of Mississauga Ont, Alana Smith, Lyla Smith, nephews Stan Smith of Princeton, B.C. Gordon Stavenlord of Spokane, Wash, Rodney and Orville Dobson, Wash and extended family.

Kitty was predeceased by her husband Vern Bengtson, mother and father Charles and Winifred Smith, brothers Redge, Sidney, Kenneth, Alan (Kelly) Smith, sister Gloria Dobson.

There will be a Celebration at a later date.
