Obituary of Lori Susan Engler

Lori Susan Engler

1969 -2021

We are saddened to share that Lori Engler passed away at her home in the loving care of her family on March 8th, 2021.

After receiving the diagnosis of stage IV pancreatic cancer in July of 2020, Lori fought each day with strength and resilience.

Lori was born October 27th, 1969 to Carole and Norm Gilberstad in Prince George B.C. She lived her life on a quest for adventure and eventually set down roots in the Kootenays after falling in love with the area. Once in Cranbrook Lori was able to start a family in 1999 with her son Eric, and in 2001 with her daughter Sarah.

Lori was a teacher, she taught us how to live life to the fullest, and she taught through her actions. Whether it was going to yoga, spin class, skiing or hiking, Lori was the example for her friends and family by making time for the things she loved to do. She made the most of everyday and never took a moment for granted, always living in the now.

Lori believed wholeheartedly that love is the force that binds us together. All of those she touched know just how strong the force of love can be. Her love will stay with us all as we live our lives to the fullest the way she did every day.

Lori will continue to be loved by her family, her children Sarah and Eric, husband Mike Guarnery, siblings Tana, Shari, Carmen, Tyson, and parents Norm (Susan) Gilberstad and Carole Spracklin.
