Obituary of Margaret Genevieve Botterill

MARGARET “JUNE” GENEVIEVE BOTTERILL (JOHNSON)

JUNE 4, 1932 – MARCH 8, 2021

June Botterill passed away peacefully on March 8th, 2021at the Kootenay Street Village Care Home.  The Angels came to take her home to Heaven.  She was predeceased by her husband Edward Botterill, son Billy, parents Albert Johnson, Margret Gartside, step-father Edmund Gartside and grandson Justin Lancaster.  She is survived by her children Don (Linda) Botterill, Debbie (Terry) Lancaster, Pat (Arleen) Botterill and Darryl (Kaleena) Botterill.  June also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren – all who were her pride and joy.

June was born and raised in Cranbrook, BC.  Growing up she had a passion for the Cranbrook Girls Bugle Band (as she used to be a member and loved cheering them on during parades), as well as figure skating, ballet and music.  She had a great love for the outdoors.  She enjoyed camping, hunting and swimming.

Her graduation class was one of the first classes to graduate from Mount Baker Secondary School.  She enjoyed driving the pilot car during the construction of the Creston Salmo road while her husband Edward was the Grader Operator.  June worked at the Green Clinic and then for Cranbrook Home Support for 25 years.

June enjoyed many summers out at Monroe Lake and Eagle’s Nest Resort.  She has always been big on family, showing her love and support for all.  She was an excellent mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.

Junie Bell/Junie Bug will be greatly missed by her friends and family.  June will be remembered for her kind and gentle nature, along with her smile.

Due to COVID, a celebration of life is still yet to be determined.
