Jory Kinjo coming to The Arts Station

Jory Kinjo will be bringing an acoustic duo to Fernie, playing a mix of ska, reggae & soul music.

Kinjo earned his stripes touring Canada with Calgary soul band, Mocking Shadows, touring with the likes of B.B. King, Buddy Guy & ZZ Top. After playing bass for Montreal’s the Planet Smashers on European tour, Kinjo came home and formed ska band, Jk & the Relays.

The Relays have since shared the stage with such acts as Fishbone, the Dirty Heads, the Aggrolites & the English Beat.

Kinjo has been touring in a solo setting lately, often pairing with other musicians for one off shows. September 2014 will see Kinjo and the Slackers (NYC) frontman, Vic Ruggiero come together to share a bill with Ziggy Marley at the Jack Singer concert hall in Calgary. Jory Kinjo brings a mix of original, acoustic reggae music with a few old school soul covers thrown in.

Jory Kinjo performs Wednesday, October 8 at 8 p.m. at The Arts Station.
