Tickets are $ 40 per person, in support of the refugee family from Syria. All funds raised after expenses will go the cause.

The fundraiser includes a dinner, dance and silent auction. Purchase your table today to enjoy an evening out with your family and friends while supporting this great cause.

Seating will be divided into tables of eight.  Tickets will be on sale soon at Pharmasave, Lotus Books and another location to be named later.

“We are encouraging businesses and individuals in Cranbrook to purchase a table for eight,” said event co-organizer Louie Cupello.

A host of local talent will be on hand to provide entertainment during the evening, including Dawson Rutledge, Bud Abbott, Audrey Jane (Stetski), Ed King and Dark Fire Cloud & The Lightning Band.

Dawson Rutledge is an 18-year-old singer/songwriter musician, making a name for himself in the CBC Searchlight Competition. He performs his own compositions and cover songs all the while oozing confidence on stage, he is a natural born entertainer.

Bud Abbott is one of Cranbrook’s treasures; still going strong at 95. He will perform a few tunes accompanied by Audrey Jane on piano.

Bud still gets around and can be seen playing trombone at the Cranbrook Farmer’s Market on Saturdays.

Audrey Jane (Stetski) is one of Cranbrook’s finest music instructors. “She is a member of The Funtastic Singers, a versatile performer, bubbly personality, full of energy and also happens to be married to our MP Wayne Stetski (maybe Wayne will play the spoons),” Cupello said.

Ed King

Ed King is a British Columbia Country Music Hall of Fame member and a Country Gospel Music Association Hall of Famer along with many more honours.

“He has the smoothest voice you will ever hear, like velvet and he gets better with age. He will also be accompanied by the effervescent Audrey Jane. In the past few years Ed has concentrated on Country Gospel music and has been been honoured with numerous awards over the years,” Cupello described.

Dark Fire Cloud & The Lightning Band is a three-piece Zydeco Reggae outfit from Slocan. They are on tour in support of their new CD ‘Origin, Nature & Destiny.’

The Western Canada Spirit Music Revival tour produced by Lazy Crow Productions kicks off in Rossland mid June and takes them throughout B.C. and into Calgary and Edmonton, Alta. They will be taking time off their busy schedule to perform at the Refugee Fundraiser.

“All performers have volunteered their time and talent; I have volunteered my time to help with entertainment and promotion, this is my way of giving back to the community,” Cupello said.

“Other tireless volunteers are: Jose Galdamez, Keri Garner, Beverlee Bullough and Audrey Stetski; Cranbrook Hub For Refugees have also contacted us and will be helping out and also encouraging their 60 members to attend the fundraiser,” he noted.
