Tragically Hip launching latest tour in Cranbrook

One of Canada’s seminal rock bands is going to launch its latest national tour in Cranbrook.

The Tragically Hip announced via their Facebook page today (Oct. 15) that the first show of their Now For Plan A tour will be at Cranbrook’s Western Financial Place on Saturday, Jan. 19.
“We’ll be travelling from the west to the east on our journey across the country this winter. The tour will start January 19, in Cranbrook, where we’ll make our way east, and then back to Ontario where we will finish in Toronto on February 14. Joining us on this adventure will be our friends the Arkells (http://arkells.ca/),” The Hip Facebook post exclaims.

The Tragically Hip have been one of Canada’s cornerstone homegrown acts, stemming back to 1983 when they formed in Kingston, Ont.

During their illustrious career, Gordon Downie (lead vocals and guitar), Paul Langlois (guitar), Rob Baker (guitar), Gord Sinclair (bass) and Johnny Fay (drums) have released 12 studio and two live albums, as well as an EP, and have pulled in 14 Juno Awards. Nine of their albums have soared to No. 1 in Canada.
Ticket pre-sale for the tour will start tomorrow (Tuesday October 16 at 10 a.m. (local time) for registered Users of thehip.com.
