Boil water still in effect

The chlorine residual for the Matthew Creek Water System was restored to normal levels Monday evening (February 2).  Water samples have been submitted for testing to ensure that the water is safe and until the results have been received the Boil Water Notice remains in effect.

Water intended for drinking, washing fruits and vegetables, making juice or ice, or brushing teeth should be boiled for one minute.

Users may notice a stronger chlorine smell over the next few days.  This is due to the extra chlorine that was added to the system during repairs.  The smell should dissipate by the end of the week if not sooner.

The Boil Water Notice covers the areas of Marysville and Riverside Campground west of town.

Any questions should be directed to Operations & Environmental Services at 250-427-9660 or [email protected].  Thank you for your patience.
