Check out your contractor
Cranbrook RCMP has received reports of contractors working in the area that appear suspicious.
As a reminder police would like to remind people to ensure when hiring contractors of any kind to conduct work inside your home or business to ensure to see the company’s business licence before allowing contractors into their homes or businesses.
You can also check through the Better Business Bureau to ensure the quality of contractor you are allowing into your home. Another good practice is to request a quote in writing before the work commences.
Should a contractor be soliciting work from you at your residence and you feel that this may be a type of scam please contact your local RCMP detachment to report the incident and the business name.
