Urban Deer Translocation

elkfordbrndThe District of Elkford has been actively involved with the urban deer translocation trial project as the lead municipality. The other partners in the project are the City of Cranbrook, City of Kimberley, District of Invermere and Province of B.C.

The translocation project has been scheduled for February and March in the participating municipalities. During the translocation process, the contractors, consultants, their employees, and volunteers specific to the project may enter onto private properties, if there is a risk to the health or safety of the occupiers, other persons, or wildlife.

BC Ambulance Service, Free Use of Facilities

In an effort to assist in the recruitment of more ambulance attendants in Elkford, council Feb. 9 authorized a free use of the Community Conference Centre meeting rooms for the upcoming Emergency Medical Responder Course. This course is required for all new ambulance attendants and five persons from Elkford will be attending.

Sam Steele Days Parade

One member of council will represent Elkford at the upcoming Sam Steele Days Parade (June 2016) in Cranbrook.
