Huge revitalization plan to be announced for Sparwood
On September 10 details of a massive revitalization plan will be announced in the District of Sparwood.
According to a media advisory released this morning (Sept. 3), Minister of Energy and Mines and Kootenay East MLA Bill Bennett will announce details of an $85 million investment plan in Sparwood on Sept. 10.
“Minister Bill Bennett will unveil the details of the first step in an ambitious revitalization plan by announcing the particulars of a multi-faceted investment program commencing immediately,” notes the District of Sparwood-released media advisory
“Sparwood is working with a range of existing and new investors including Joy Global, Project Build, Schickedanz West, Teck Coal, BC Hydro, Noort Investments and East Kootenay Community Credit Union on this first round of local community investment,” the advisory outlines.
All of the key investors will be on hand Sept. 10 at the Sparwood Visitor Centre to announce their individual investment and development plans ahead of the commencement of the project to regional media.
