A 41-year-old West Kelowna man is facing a drug trafficking charge after a targeted police investigation last summer.

In August of last year, police conducted an undercover operation that culminated in the purchase of illicit drugs from a known prolific offender. A Warrant was subsequently issued for the man’s arrest and he appeared in Court earlier this month.

As a result of this investigation, Kelly Ross Black (41) is charged with Trafficking a Controlled Substance. Black is also currently charged with Aggravated Assault from a separate incident and remains in custody. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 24.

Although unrelated to these charges, Ronald Kevin Black, Kelly Black’s brother, is currently wanted on outstanding Warrants out of Cranbrook, for several offences including Discharge of a Firearm, Pointing a Firearm, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose and Fail to Appear.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Ronald Kevin Black is asked to call their local police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
