Busy summer Saturday for Columbia Valley SAR

Saturday (August 29) was a busy day for Columbia Valley Search and Rescue (SAR).
Three calls came in early during the afternoon.
The first was a BC Ambulance Service (BCAS) assist on the Old Coach Trail.
“After BCAS was able to locate the subject, SAR stood down and quickly prepared for our second call. The second call was for an injured hiker in Bugaboos Provincial Park,” SAR reported on social media.
“Responding members flew to the Conrad Kain Hut and extricated the subject before handing them off to BCAS. Shortly after, our third call for the day came in for a tipped canoe on Columbia Lake.
“A quick reloading of different gear and the team took off towards Columbia Lake where they assisted the Windermere Fire Rescue boat to locate the subjects in the water.
“A big thank you to all the responding members and to all other agencies involved.
“This is not only the busiest day that SAR has seen in recent history but also the busiest month.”
Remember to @adventuresmart by being prepared when heading out but we’re here to help when you need it. Stay safe.
