Charity fun every Friday at Copper Point

Copper Point Golf Club is once again raising funds to support a David Thompson Secondary School (DTSS) graduate with a fun closest-to-the-pin contest every Friday evening from 7-9 p.m. beside The View Restaurant deck.

It costs $5 for two attempts to get closest to the pin in Men’s, Women’s or Junior division, and half the money collected goes to a local giving back initiative.

Last year, Copper Point raised $1,400 for our community in the form of a donation for a 2019 graduating student from DTSS.

Congratulations to this week’s (June 14) closest to the pin winners!

Distance: 46 yards

Men’s –  Brian Birkshire – A hole in one! The first par this season and only the second par since the program started last year!

Women’s– Janice Giberson – 25 feet.

Juniors –  n/a.

The HIO pot was $675; however, Brian Birkshire chose to donate it back to the Patio Pitch fund for the students!

Most importantly, the student donation amount, thanks to Brian’s generosity, is already up to $1532.50 for the season! Let’s see if we can get to $2,500 or more this year!

The top shooters each won prizes and a beverage (or non-alcoholic) from our weekly sponsor Moosehead and will get invited back for the Final Shootout co-sponsored by Radius Retreat on Saturday August 31.

Thank you to all who have supported this initiative and we look forward to growing this program for many years to come!
See you next Friday!
