Columbia Valley RCMP Report

This past week, January 4 through January 10, Columbia Valley RCMP responded to 56 calls for service. The following is a summary of some of the files to which our officers responded.

Vehicle stolen out of Chilliwack area found abandoned

On Monday, January 4, police received a report of an abandoned silver Mini Cooper near Cooper Road and Westroc Mine Road near Invermere. An officer attended and located the vehicle, which was reported stolen out of the Chilliwack area on December 21, 2020. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Columbia Valley RCMP or Crimestoppers.

Vehicle tire slashed at provincial park

On Wednesday, January 6 at about 11 p.m., Columbia Valley RCMP received a report of mischief to a vehicle. The owner of a white Chevrolet Tahoe reported someone had slashed one of his tires while the vehicle was parked at James Chabot Provincial Park in Invermere. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Columbia Valley RCMP or Crimestoppers.

Investigation underway into interrupted break and enter

On Sunday, January 10, police received a report of an interrupted break and enter at a business on Athalmer Road in Invermere. An employee was arriving at work when he noticed a suspicious black Chevrolet Cobalt drive out of the parking lot. The employee discovered some unraveled copper wire but it did not appear anything was missing. The investigation is ongoing.
