Copper Point golfers have epic day for ALS

Over an almost 18-hour period, five Copper Point Golf Club – Ridge Course professionals golfed 1,004 holes, taking 3,279 strokes, with 124 collective birdies and four eagles on Tuesday, June 18.

Brian Schaal (241 holes), Scott McClain (241 holes), Dennis Bradley (216 holes), Dale Moore (90 holes-injury) and Kevin Bennett (216 holes) played the epic day of golf as part of the 14th annual PGA of BC Golfathon for ALS.

A fundraiser as well as awareness raising event, the golfathon at Copper Point has so far raised $6,850 which is only $150 shy of their goal.

The course made “a huge shout out to Brett Wilson for challenging us again and supporting our efforts totalling $3,000! This is close to him as his mother passed away from ALS. We would love to blow our goal out of the water in the following weeks as folks can still donate online under Copper Point Golf Club.

“It is important to recognize that our efforts not only support patients suffering from ALS but also supports the family members of those suffering.  Please help us raise more money and awareness for the ALS Society of BC and we, as proud PGA of BC members, will continue to use our bodies in the GolfathonforALS until we find a cure,” said Scott McClain – PGA of BC Head Golf Professional.
