Columbia Valley Centre vandalism under investigation

The District of Invermere is reeling after vandals attacked Columbia Valley Centre last weekend.

“It is a shame to report that the Columbia Valley Centre was targeted for mindless vandalism. Sometime between the evening of Saturday, June 27 and morning of Sunday, June 28, two of the centre’s main lobby windows were smashed. This intentional act of criminal damage has left staff and community members disappointed and angry. It saddens us all when things like this happen because it is against the whole spirit of our community, this is not Invermere, this is not who we are,” the district stated on social media July 2.

“Evidence is still being compiled and the investigation is ongoing.”

Any witnesses or anyone with any additional information is urged to contact the Columbia Valley RCMP Detachment at 250-342-9292.

Or if you wish to remain completely anonymous you are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 with your tip information.”
