Winter outdoor festival fun time in Invermere

The 11th annual Invermere Snowflake Festival and Whiteway Winter Challenge are running this weekend, January 17-19, along with the 37th annual Bonspiel-on-the-Lake, all at Kinsmen Beach.

The Invermere Snowflake Festival is taking place on Friday, January 17 from 5-9 p.m. Skating on the lake, live music, bonfires and more! Fireworks take off at 8 p.m.! Bring your skates or rent them at Columbia River Paddle Concession.

Purchase a Taste of the Valley Passport book to receive tasty food samples from local participating restaurants from 6-8 p.m. Taste of the Valley Passports will be available for $10 cash at the Columbia Valley Chamber of Commerce and will also be available at the event entrance.

Don’t miss out on the Whiteway Winter Challenge taking place on Sunday, January 19 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on the Lake Windermere Whiteway at Kinsmen Beach. Challenge yourself this winter and take part in the Whiteway Winter Challenge as an individual or team (ages 13 and up). This multi-sport challenge consists of three laps of the 10-12km ‘Windermere Loop’ of the Lake Windemere Whiteway. We will kick the event off with the skate, and then slide into the ski, and round it out with the run.
